The Trip
Big mountain. Small town.
Montana in March, seven nights, Sunday to Sunday. We're running March 14 – 21, 2027 out of The Firebrand Hotel — a boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Whitefish, and the reason this trip works. Modern rooms, a lobby bar and restaurant, a coffee shop for your morning, and a rooftop hot tub under Montana stars. Step out the door and you're in the middle of Whitefish's dining and nightlife; step onto the skier shuttle and you're at the mountain.
Whitefish Mountain Resort is the anti-megaresort — 3,000 acres of long groomers, glades, and the famous snow ghosts, with lift lines you'll mostly forget exist. Summer is actually high season here (it's the gateway to Glacier National Park), which makes winter some of the best-value skiing in the West. And it's not on Ikon or Epic — which is exactly why you won't find the crowds those passes bring. You just ski.
Ski all day, soak at night, walk to dinner. That's the whole rhythm of the week. A real downtown you can walk — breweries, great dinners, après just outside the lobby — with the whole group under one roof. Bring your crew and we'll seat you together; come solo for a social-when-you-want-it week.
What Makes It Special
The good stuff, built in.
No pass required — and no pass crowds — Whitefish isn't on Ikon or Epic, and that's the secret: 3,000 acres of groomers, glades, and famously short lift lines, at day-ticket prices the megaresorts abandoned years ago. Our group lift rates below make it even better — including one of the best 70+ senior deals in the country.
Play
3,000 acres of Big Mountain skiing — long groomers, glades, and the snow ghosts up top, with first-chair mornings and a skier shuttle from the hotel. March brings deep base, longer days, and bluebird views over the valley cloud.
Rest
A rooftop hot tub under Montana stars, fire pits looking out over town, and a boutique room to crash in. Bags handled, ski storage handled, airport transfers handled — you just show up.
Vibe
A real downtown you can walk — breweries, great dinners, and après just outside the lobby, with the whole group under one roof. This is a ski town that's still a town.
The Firebrand is the move — A boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Whitefish — on-site restaurant, bar, and coffee shop, a rooftop deck with fire pits and the hot tub, and the town's best dinners a short walk away. Ski all day, soak at night, walk to dinner.
Glacier country — Kalispell's Glacier Park International (FCA) is about 25 minutes from the hotel — and you're at the doorstep of Glacier National Park country. Want a snowmobile day or a scenic detour? Say the word and we'll set it up.
Day by Day
How the week unfolds.
Sun · Mar 14
Touch down in Glacier country
Fly into Glacier Park International (FCA) — a quick 25-minute group transfer brings you to The Firebrand in the heart of downtown Whitefish. Settle in, meet the crew at the welcome reception, and grab dinner on a real main street.
Mar 15 – 20
Six days on Big Mountain
The skier shuttle picks you up at the hotel door. Ski the groomers, hunt the glades, ride through the snow ghosts, and break for lunch above the valley cloud. Afternoons end at the rooftop hot tub or a downtown brewery — your call, every day.
Sun · Mar 21
One last look at the mountain
A slow morning, a coffee from the lobby shop, and the group transfer back to FCA — legs tired, camera full, already talking about next season.

Whitefish, Montana
Bluebird mornings, snow ghosts, and 3,000 acres with barely a lift line — this is why you come in March.
A Look Around

Questions
Asked and answered.
What do lift tickets cost?
Our group rates, purchased through the trip and added to your package: Adult $415 (4-day) / $515 (5-day) · Senior 65–69 $360 / $450 · Super Senior 70+ $165 / $200 — that 70+ rate is one of the best senior deals in American skiing. Because Whitefish isn't on Ikon or Epic, lift tickets are separate — and still a fraction of megaresort walk-up prices. Rates are confirmed with the resort at booking.
How does pricing work?
The headline $990 per person (double occupancy) covers your seven-night hotel week AND your round-trip airport transfers, taxes and resort fees included. Lift tickets are added at the group rates above, and airfare is separate — group flights are shaping up around $900 round-trip and get booked by fall. When you're ready, you get one personalized itemized quote — room, lifts, air, and insurance, all spelled out before you pay a dime.
How do we get there?
Fly into Glacier Park International (FCA) in Kalispell — it's about 25 minutes from the hotel, and your round-trip transfer is already in your price. We're planning group flights (about $900 round-trip, booked by fall — Newark is our usual departure point, and we'll help with routing from wherever you fly). Booking your own air with miles? Send us your flight details and you'll still ride the group transfer.
What's the skiing like?
Whitefish Mountain Resort is 3,000 acres of long groomers, glades, and open bowls, crowned by the famous snow ghosts — snow-crusted trees straight out of a postcard. It's the anti-megaresort: short lift lines, friendly locals, real ski-town prices. March means a deep base, longer days, and some of the most reliable snow of the season.
Is breakfast included?
No — on purpose. The Firebrand's own coffee shop is downstairs, and a dozen downtown breakfast spots are a short walk away. We'd rather keep your price down than charge you for a buffet you'll skip on a powder morning.
Is this a typical group trip?
Same easy format as our other trips: a curated week you can just book. You book your own room, everyone travels the same dates, and it's social when you want it, quiet when you don't — bring friends and we'll seat you together.
What about travel insurance?
We'll offer travel insurance with your booking, including Cancel For Any Reason options, so your deposit is protected from day one. Every quote spells out the coverage and the exact premium — your call, no pressure.
