The Trip
A different kind of all-inclusive.
No beach on this one, and that's the point. Los Establos sits high in Boquete, the cool, green coffee country of western Panama, on a 16-acre estate that was a working coffee plantation and horse stable more than a century ago. Just 22 rooms and suites, gardens everywhere, and a terrace that looks straight at Volcán Barú. Expect days around 75°F, not 95°F.
What makes it unusual is what's folded into the rate. Beyond breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a guided tour or excursion is included every full day of your stay: zip-lining through the cloud forest, the hanging bridges, the Lost Waterfalls hike, a coffee estate tour, rum tasting, natural hot springs, even white-water rafting. Pick the thrill days and the easy days. It's your mix.
Back at the resort it stays unhurried: a pool and hot tub facing the mountains, a fitness center, billiards, a pickleball court, and a daily happy hour where guests trade stories about where they went that day. The resort is for guests 12 and over, and it's part of the Elite Island Resorts family, the same people behind Pineapple Beach Club in Antigua.

A pool and hot tub facing the mountains, 16 acres of gardens, the Caldera hot springs on an easy day, and a king suite with Volcán Barú in the window. Spa treatments are available too, at an extra charge.

With only 22 rooms, the 4 to 6 pm happy hour turns into the place everyone compares notes on the day. Come as a couple or bring friends; book the same week and we'll line your plans up together.
Coffee country — Boquete grows some of the most prized coffee in the world, and the resort sits on one of its oldest estates. Tour the plantation and mill, then drink the house roast all week.
Meals and drinks, covered — Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Irina's Restaurant and the poolside Irina's Bistro. Beer, wine, juice, soda, and water are self-serve around the clock, with handcrafted cocktails at the daily happy hour.
Spring-like, all year — The highlands stay around 75°F with a light breeze. A passing mountain mist (locals call it bajareque) is part of the charm, so pack a light windbreaker.

One included tour or excursion each day, your pick from more than a dozen: canopy zip-lining, the hanging bridges, the Lost Waterfalls and Pipeline hikes, bird watching for the quetzal, the coffee estate, tea and rum tastings, a panoramic Boquete drive, the Caldera hot springs, the Cangilones canyon, or a full day of white-water rafting. Most run a morning or an afternoon, so there's still pool time.

Is the price per person?
No. This one is a room rate: $5,243 for the week covers two guests in a king suite (about $750 a night), all-inclusive with the daily tour. Traveling solo? The room rate is the same, so ask us and we'll quote it straight.
Which weeks are available?
Apr 3 – 10 is sold out. Apr 10 – 17 has two rooms left. Apr 24 – May 1 starts at $750 a night ($5,243 for the week). Other dates work too: December through April is the best time to go, and from May into December rates start at $599 a night ($4,193 for the week). Tell us your dates on the form and we'll quote them.
How do we get there?
Fly into Panama City (PTY), then take a short connecting flight to David (DAV). From David it's about a 45-minute drive up to Boquete. Airfare isn't part of the room rate. From Newark, figure about $1,300 per person round-trip, billed at the actual fare. We'll price the whole routing for you, or you can book your own flights and we'll handle the rest.
Can we add Panama City and the Canal?
Yes, and since you're connecting through Panama City anyway it's an easy add. Stay a night or two on the way in or out and we'll set up a Panama Canal tour. Tick the box on the form and we'll quote it alongside the resort.
How do the included tours work?

The resort welcomes guests 12 and over. It's a quiet, grown-up property built for couples and friends, but a teenager who loves zip-lines would fit right in.
What's the pickleball setup?
One court on property. Good for a morning game; this isn't a pickleball-first resort. If courts are the priority, look at our Pineapple Beach Club week in Antigua, which has six.
What's the weather like?
Boquete sits high in the mountains, so it stays around 75°F year-round with a light breeze. December through April is the driest stretch. Brief misty showers can drift through any time of year, so bring a light windbreaker and shoes you can hike in.
What do I need to enter Panama?
For US citizens, a valid passport. Panama also asks arriving travelers to complete an electronic customs declaration. We'll send the current entry requirements with your trip documents.
