Our Story

How we got here.

Michael and Michele Vollmer in white, under the palms — Michael & Michele — where the story keeps going.

Sun Sand Slope started on a bus. At 19, while in college, Michael took a winter job as a ski tour guide — loading gear, guiding groups to mountains across the Northeast, and spending every weekend surrounded by people having the best day of their week. That was four decades ago. The feeling never left.

What followed was a lifetime built around shared experiences — scuba, skiing, sailing, endurance events, even co-owning a winery. Every chapter had the same thread: bring people together around something they love, handle the details so they don't have to, and create the kind of atmosphere where real connections happen.

Michele has been the grounding force through all of it. Twenty-five years raising their family, a background in personal training and wellness, and a genuine instinct for when a trip needs less agenda and more breathing room. Michael builds the adventure; Michele makes sure you actually come home rested.

Club Med is where it all clicked. Over 30 years of visiting together, they found the model — energy and relaxation in balance, everything handled, genuine community built into the experience. That became the standard every Sun Sand Slope trip is measured against.

Sun Sand Slope exists because after four decades of planning trips for friends, clubs, and communities, it was time to make it official. Not a side hustle — a business built on real experience, disciplined planning, and a simple belief: your vacation should be the easiest thing you do all year.
