The Trip

Between the bay and La Rocca.

Sicily, late September, seven nights. We're gauging interest for Sept 25 – Oct 2, 2027 at Club Med Cefalù — a full Exclusive Collection village where stone villetas sit nestled between the bay's crystal waters and the mineral splendor of La Rocca. The grandeur of a Sicilian palazzo meets contemporary architecture, an infinity pool pours into the sea horizon, and the medieval town of Cefalù waits just down the coast. No commitment yet — raise a hand below and you're first in line if this one comes together.

A tradition of flavours. Sicily's culinary culture is half the reason to go, and the village leans all the way in: La Rocca, the open-air main restaurant where the Josper grill and pizza oven perfume the terrace above the bay; Il Palazzo, the baroque gourmet lounge — pasta alla norma at a long lunch, fresh gnocchi with pesto at dinner; and Riva Beach, where perfectly grilled fish meets a dinner-under-the-stars option. Add a dedicated wine bar and you start to understand why nobody books an excursion for day one.

And bring your walking shoes. Late September is prime guided-hiking season here — historic, scenic, and nature walks for every fitness level, with multiple trails close to the village and the Madonie mountains at your back. When you want to range farther, the excursion list reads like a Sicily bucket list: Mount Etna, Palermo, Taormina, Agrigento, the Aeolian islands, even a Sicilian morning on a Vespa.

What Makes It Special

The good stuff, built in.

Vibe

A boutique village where the wine bar, the terrace, and the long Sicilian dinner do the introductions. Palazzo grandeur, golden light, and a crew of travelers who picked Sicily in September on purpose.

A tradition of flavoursThree restaurants — La Rocca (Josper grill + pizza oven on an open-air terrace over the bay), Il Palazzo (the baroque gourmet lounge), and Riva Beach (grilled fish where the sea meets the sky) — plus five bars, including a dedicated wine bar.

Discover the region on footMultiple hiking trails sit close to the resort — historic, scenic, and nature routes for every preference and fitness level, mapped in the My Club Med app. The medieval streets of Cefalù town are right down the coast.

Excursions worth leaving the village forMount Etna, a rendez-vous in Palermo, Taormina, Agrigento's Valley of the Temples, the wild Aeolian islands of Filicudi & Alicudi, a Vespa morning, even a vintage-car coast drive — all bookable at the village (extra cost).

September, on purposeSummer crowds gone, sea still warm, golden light all week — and the hiking trails at their best. Sicily's sweet spot is exactly when we'd be there.

Questions

Asked and answered.

What does “gauging interest” mean?

Exactly what it sounds like — no payment, no commitment. You tell us you're interested, and when enough hands go up we lock the room block with Club Med, firm up pricing, and open booking. The interest list gets first dibs before the trip goes public.

How does pricing work?

The starting point is $1,900 per person (double occupancy) for the seven-night resort package — airfare to Sicily is additional. When the group forms, every traveler gets a personalized itemized quote: room category, air options, transfers, and insurance, all spelled out before you pay a dime.

How do we get there?

Fly into Palermo (PMO) — about 90 minutes from the village — or Catania (CTA), about 2 hours. We'll help with flight routing from your home airport and coordinate transfer options for the group. Check-in opens at 4pm, and early arrivals get a complimentary lunch.

Is this a typical group trip?

Same easy format as our other Club Med weeks: a “come join us at the resort” trip. You book your own room, everyone travels the same dates, and the week fills with informal meetups — shared dinners, hiking mornings, maybe a group Etna or Palermo day if the crew leans in. Social when you want it, quiet when you don't.

What's late September like there?

Sicily's sweet spot — summer crowds gone, the sea still warm, golden light all week. It's prime guided-hiking season at the village. One honest note: the watersports season (paddle, sailing, kayak, snorkeling) typically winds down at the end of September, so those may only run early in our week — fall here is about trails, tables, pools, and excursions.

Is Cefalù good for families?

It skews adult by design. The village minimum age is 8 years old, there's no kids' club, and the Zen natural pool is reserved for ages 16+. It's a fit for couples and friends; for a family-forward Club Med week, our Cancún trip is the better match.

What's an Exclusive Collection village?

Club Med's top tier — boutique scale, elevated dining and service, and concierge-level touches throughout. Cefalù is a full Exclusive Collection resort, one of only a handful in the world. Our Club Med page has the full breakdown of what the EC badge means.

What's the Club Med membership fee?

Club Med charges a one-time membership fee of $60 per adult / $30 per child, required for all bookings and not included in the package price.
