The Trip
A clean, week-long Caribbean reset.
The week after Thanksgiving, a family-friendly week at the newly renovated Club Med Cancún Yucatán — set up and handled for you. Seven nights on a private peninsula at the southern tip of the Cancún hotel zone, with three beaches, a calm lagoon on one side, open Caribbean on the other, and a quick 20-minute hop from CUN airport.
Your base is your room category of choice. The all-inclusive covers all meals at three restaurants (La Hacienda buffet, La Estancia Argentinian steakhouse, Taco Arte oceanfront Mexican), unlimited premium open bar, snacks, and the full Club Med activity menu — everything from sailing to flying trapeze to the brand-new pickleball courts. Kids' clubs run ages 4 months through 17 years.
December is past the official Caribbean hurricane window, and Club Med just completed its biggest property refresh in years. Two ways to fly: package your air with us through Club Med (transfers included) for a one-stop quote, or book your own and we'll add a shared transfer. We can coordinate air from any departure city — NYC-area travelers get nonstop EWR / JFK / LGA service multiple times daily, and from anywhere else we'll route the best connection for you.

Is this a typical group trip?
Not really — think of it as a curated week we've set up and made easy. You book your own room with us at Club Med's prevailing rate, fly your own flights, and run your own days. Travel with family or friends and we'll coordinate your rooms and seat you together; come on your own and enjoy a great resort week, fully handled.
How do air and transfers work?
Two paths, and either works from any departure city. Package your air with us through Club Med and we'll quote one all-in price from your home airport with roundtrip transfers included (the EWR example runs around $1,787/person all-in). Or book your own air — NYC metro has multiple daily nonstops on United, JetBlue, and Delta — and we'll add a shared roundtrip transfer for ~$60/person, or you can grab a taxi at CUN. The airport is small and the resort is 20 minutes away.
What does “all-inclusive” actually cover at Club Med?
All meals at three restaurants, unlimited premium open bar, snacks and 24-hour options, every free-access activity (pickleball, sailing, snorkel, kayak, SUP, trapeze, archery, fitness, yoga, dance, beach volleyball), every kids' club ages 4–17, nightly entertainment, taxes, and gratuities. Premium add-ons sold separately: scuba, spa, golf, horseback, premium excursions.
Why book through Sun Sand Slope instead of Club Med directly?
You get a team that knows this property cold, a set week you can build a trip around, and advisor support before and during travel. The price matches Club Med's own rate, so you pay nothing extra for the curation.
Is this trip family-friendly?
Yes. Club Med's kids' clubs run ages 4 months through 17 years, the Aguamarina Family Oasis has its own pool, splash park, mocktail bar, and oceanfront two-bedroom rooms, and the village is built around active multi-generational travel.
What about quiet adult-only space?
The Exclusive Collection Space is an adult-leaning Suite-tier zone with a private pool, the Jade Lounge Bar (champagne by the glass from 6 PM), dedicated concierge, continental-breakfast room service, turndown service, and priority spa booking. You still have full run of the village; you just have a quieter base.
Is scuba included?
No — scuba is at additional cost via the on-site PADI dive program (ages 8+). Snorkeling is free. Mike, Sun Sand Slope's Owner & Travel Advisor, is a 20+ year PADI Instructor — happy to talk through dive options or set you up with reef + cenote outings.
Hurricane risk in December?
Atlantic hurricane season officially ends November 30 — December is consistently outside the storm window. We still strongly recommend travel insurance; weather is one of many things it covers.
What if Club Med's published rate changes after I book?
Club Med occasionally publishes promotional rates. If a public rate drops between your booking and 60 days before travel, contact us — we'll work with Club Med to capture the better rate where possible.
Can I extend on either end?
Yes. Cancún is a flexible flight market with multiple nonstops daily. We're happy to extend your room nights at Club Med, or point you at a pre/post stay in Tulum, Isla Mujeres, or Mérida.
What if these dates don't work?
We picked the week after Thanksgiving, but Club Med Cancún runs year-round. If Dec 5–12 doesn't line up, just tell us — we'll quote you the same resort another week.
