The Trip
A clean, week-long Caribbean reset the week after Thanksgiving. We’re going to Club Med Cancún — come join us. Seven nights at the newly renovated Club Med Cancún Yucatán, a private peninsula at the southern tip of the Cancún hotel zone with three beaches, calm lagoon on one side, open Caribbean on the other, and a quick 20-minute hop from CUN airport.
Your base is your room category of choice at Club Med Cancún. The all-inclusive covers all meals at three restaurants (La Hacienda buffet, La Estancia Argentinian steakhouse, Taco Arte oceanfront Mexican), unlimited premium open bar, snacks, and the full Club Med activity menu — sailing, snorkeling, kayak, SUP, archery, flying trapeze, fitness classes, yoga, and the brand-new pickleball courts opened August 2026. Kids’ clubs run ages 4 months through 17 years.
December is past the official Caribbean hurricane window (season ends November 30), and Club Med just completed the biggest property refresh in years — new lagoon-side infinity pool finished September 2026, new beach & pool bar, refreshed Yucatán-inspired rooms, Sports & Wellness Island, and pickleball. Two ways to fly: package your air with us through Club Med (transfers included) for a one-stop quote, or book your own (we’ll add a shared transfer for ~$60/person, or you grab a taxi at CUN). We can coordinate air from any departure city. NYC-area travelers get the easiest path — nonstop EWR / JFK / LGA → CUN service on United, JetBlue, and Delta runs multiple times daily — and from anywhere else we’ll route the best connection for you.

Sat, Dec 5: Arrival day
Fly to CUN from your departure city (NYC metro has nonstop service on United, JetBlue, and Delta from EWR / JFK / LGA multiple times daily; from elsewhere we’ll route the best connection) — package your air with us through Club Med or book your own. CUN is ~20 minutes from the resort; transfers are included when you package air with us, or arrangeable as a ~$60/person add-on if you book your own. Check-in, settle in, and meet up at the Marina Bar that evening for an informal hello with whoever’s arrived.
Sun Dec 6 – Fri Dec 11: Six full Cancún days
Six all-inclusive days at Club Med — three private beaches, the new infinity pool, the full activity menu (sailing, snorkel, kayak, SUP, trapeze, archery, pickleball, yoga), plus optional Spa, scuba, and curated excursions to Tulum, Chichén Itzá, Coba, Rio Secreto, Isla Mujeres, or sea-turtle snorkel (priced separately). We’ll be on-property too — expect informal meetups for shared meals, pickleball pickup games, and possibly an off-property excursion day if the group leans in. We’ll firm up plans as the week approaches based on who’s coming.

Return transfer to CUN for your flight home — included in the air package, or available as a ~$60/person add-on if you booked your own air.

Is this a typical group trip?
Not strictly. This is a “come join us at the resort” trip — we’ll be at Club Med Cancún the week of Dec 5, and you book your own room with us at Club Med’s prevailing rate. You’ll fly your own flights, run your own days, and join informal meetups as the week unfolds. The through-line is the resort week and the people — informal, flexible, and shaped by who shows up.
How does air and transfers work?
Two paths, and either works from any departure city — we’re based in NJ but we work with travelers from anywhere. Package your air with us through Club Med and we’ll quote one all-in price from your home airport — roundtrip airport transfers are included in the package (NYC metro example from EWR runs around $1,787/person all-in; we route from other cities at their own quote). Or book your own air — NYC metro has multiple daily nonstops from EWR / JFK / LGA on United, JetBlue, and Delta, and from elsewhere we’ll recommend connecting routings. In that case we’ll add a shared roundtrip transfer for ~$60/person, or you can grab a taxi at CUN — the airport is small and the resort is 20 minutes away.
What does “all-inclusive” actually cover at Club Med?
All meals at three restaurants, unlimited premium open bar (wine, beer, spirits, cocktails, soft drinks), snacks and 24-hour options, every free-access activity (pickleball, sailing, snorkel, kayak, SUP, trapeze, archery, fitness, yoga, dance, beach volleyball), every kids’ club ages 4–17, nightly entertainment, taxes, and gratuities. Premium add-ons sold separately: scuba, spa, golf, horseback, premium excursions.
Why book through Sun Sand Slope instead of Club Med directly?
You get a curator who knows the property cold, coordinated dates so you’ll be at Club Med the same week as Sun Sand Slope and other SSS travelers, informal on-property meetups, and 24/7 advisor support during the trip. Pricing matches Club Med’s prevailing rate — you’re not paying extra for the curation.
Is this trip family-friendly?
Yes. Club Med’s kids’ clubs run ages 4 months through 17 years, the Aguamarina Family Oasis has its own pool, splash park, mocktail bar, and oceanfront two-bedroom rooms, and the village is built around active multi-generational travel.
What about quiet adult-only space?
The Exclusive Collection Space is an adult-leaning Suite-tier zone with a private pool, the Jade Lounge Bar (champagne by the glass from 6 PM), dedicated concierge, room service for continental breakfast, turndown service, and priority booking at the spa and specialty restaurant. You still have full run of the village; you just have a quieter base.
Is scuba included?
No — scuba is at additional cost via the on-site PADI dive program (ages 8+). Snorkeling is free. Mike is a 20+ year PADI Instructor and is happy to talk through dive options or set you up with reef + cenote outings.
Hurricane risk in December?
Atlantic hurricane season officially ends November 30. December is consistently outside the storm window. We still strongly recommend travel insurance — weather is one of many things it covers.
What if Club Med’s published rate changes after I book?
Club Med occasionally publishes promotional rates. If a public rate drops between your booking and 60 days before travel, contact us — we’ll work with Club Med to capture the better rate where possible.
Can I extend on either end?
Yes. Cancún is a flexible flight market with multiple nonstops daily. We’re happy to extend your room nights at Club Med, or to point you at a pre/post stay in Tulum, Isla Mujeres, or Mérida.
